Planning an escape to the countryside?

Whether it’s the history and heritage of the local museums and mills, historic buildings, ruins, or charming villages with tales of witchcraft, or the culture and cuisine of the festivals, theatres and art, world class dining and food & drink producers or the independent shopping, cinemas and vibrant night life and award winning spas, there’s something in the area for you.

Here at Three Rivers we are very fortunate to be in the heart of The Ribble Valley which is part of an Area Natural Outstanding Beauty, ANOB for short! In this beautiful countryside there is Gisburn Forest famous for Stocks Reservoir and first class of road cycling. Star gazing is a must when you visit this area, as it is a Dark Sky at Night Discovery Area

For the keen walker there is always our famous Pendle Hill! From the top of Pendle, on clear days, you can see The Yorkshire Three Peaks, South Lakes and Blackpool Tower! The Ribble Valley has some fabulous walks with great pubs and cafes for the well needed rest. Don’t forget The Woodlands Cafe on the Park.

For retail therapy visit the nearby towns of Clitheroe and Whalley with independent shops for the perfect purchase.

Other places of interest are Sabden, the birth place of The Quaker Movement and lots of witches to be found!

Of course, Pendle Hill is very much associated with the famous Lancashire Witches. The witches were charged of ten murders by the use of witchcraft. All found guilty and executed by hanging.

Other must visit villages are Waddington and Dunsop Bridge.

As if all that isn’t enough, you are also on the doorstep of the Lakes and the Dales, with easy access to motorways, Manchester and Liverpool, Blackpool and the seaside.

Pendle Hill, Gisburn Forest, Dark Sky at Night, Sawley Abbey, Whalley Abbey, Witch country, fabulous Bars, Country Pubs and excellent eateries. Great for walking.

Fabulous walks for all our four legged friends.

Some say the Ribble Valley is Britain’s best kept secret…why not come and see for yourself?
